The 3G Backup Screen

Use this screen to configure your 3G settings. Click

Broadband > 3G Backup

At the time of writing, the 3G cards you can use in the ZyXEL Device are Huawei

E220 and E270.

Note: The actual data rate you obtain varies depending the 3G card you use, the

signal strength to the service provider’s base station, and so on.

Bridge Group

Select the LAN/WLAN port(s) from which traffic will be forwarded to

the WAN interface directly.

Select a port from the

Available LAN/WLAN Port(s)

list and click

Add >>

to add it to the

Bridged LAN/WLAN Port(s)

list.

If you want to remove a port from the

Bridged LAN/WLAN Port(s)

list, select it and click

Remove <<

You cannot configure a QoS class for traffic from the LAN port which is

selected here.

ATM PVC

Configuration

VPI (Virtual Path Identifier) and VCI (Virtual Channel Identifier) define

a virtual circuit.

This section is available only when you select

ADSL

in the

Type

field

to configure an ATM layer-2 interface.

VPI

The valid range for the VPI is 0 to 255. Enter the VPI assigned to you.

VCI

The valid range for the VCI is 32 to 65535 (0 to 31 is reserved for local

management of ATM traffic). Enter the VCI assigned to you.

Encapsulation

Mode

The encapsulation method of multiplexing used by your is

LLC/SNAP-

BRIDGING

. In LCC encapsulation, bridged PDUs are encapsulated by

identifying the type of the bridged media in the SNAP header.

Service Category

Select

UBR Without PCR

for applications that are non-time sensitive,

such as e-mail.

Select

CBR

(Constant Bit Rate) to specify fixed (always-on) bandwidth

for voice or data traffic.

Select

Non Realtime VBR

(non real-time Variable Bit Rate) for

connections that do not require closely controlled delay and delay

variation.

Select

Realtime VBR

(real-time Variable Bit Rate) for applications

with bursty connections that require closely controlled delay and delay

variation.
