Chapter 13 Interfaces Table 65 Configuration > Network > Interface > Cellular > Add (continued) LABEL DESCRIPTION Dial String Enter the dial string if your ISP provides a string, which would include the APN, to initialize the 3G card. You can enter up to 63 ASCII printable characters. Spaces are allowed. Authentication Type This field is available only when you insert a GSM 3G card. The ZyWALL supports PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) and CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol). CHAP is more secure than PAP; however, PAP is readily available on more platforms. Use the drop-down list box to select an authentication protocol for outgoing calls. Options are: None: No authentication for outgoing calls. CHAP - Your ZyWALL accepts CHAP requests only. User Name PAP - Your ZyWALL accepts PAP requests only. This field displays when you select an authentication type other than None. This field is read-only if you selected Device in the profile selection. If this field is configurable, enter the user name for this 3G card exactly as the service provider gave it to you. Password You can use 1 ~ 64 alphanumeric and #:%-_@$./ characters. The first character must be alphanumeric or -_@$./. Spaces are not allowed. This field displays when you select an authentication type other than None. This field is read-only if you selected Device in the profile selection and the password is included in the 3G card's profile. If this field is configurable, enter the password for this SIM card exactly as the service provider gave it to you. Retype to Confirm SIM Card Setting PIN Code You can use 0 ~ 63 alphanumeric and characters. Spaces are not allowed. This field displays when you select an authentication type other than None. This field is read-only if you selected Device in the profile selection and the password is included in the 3G card's profile. If this field is configurable, re-enter the password for this SIM card exactly as the service provider gave it to you. This field displays with a GSM or HSDPA 3G card. A PIN (Personal Identification Number) code is a key to a 3G card. Without the PIN code, you cannot use the 3G card. Enter the 4-digit PIN code (0000 for example) provided by your ISP. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly, the 3G card may be blocked by your ISP and you cannot use the account to access the Internet.
