Remember: Anti-lock doesn'tchange the timeyou need to get your foot up to the brake pedal or always decrease stopping distance. If you get tooclose to the vehiclein front of you, you won't have time to apply your brakes. if that vehicle suddenly slows or stops. Always leave enough room up aheadto(stop, even thoughyou hav'e anti-lock brakes. Enhanced Traction System If your vehiclehas the optional four-speed automatic transaxle, italso has an Enhanced Traction System (ETS) that limits wheel spin. This especially useful in is slippery road condittons. The system operates only if it senses that one or both the front wheels we spinning of or beginningto lose traction. When this happens, the system reduces engine power and may upshift the also transaxle tolimit wheel spin. I Using AntkLock Don't pump the brakes. hold the brake pedal down Just and let anti-lock workfor you. You may feel the system working, or you may notice some noise, but is this normal. LOW TRAC This light will come on when your Enhanced Traction Systemis limiting wheel spin. See "Enhanced Traction System Active Light" in the Index. You may feel or hear the system working, but thisis normal. The Enhanced Traction Systemoperates in all transaxle shift lever positions. But the system upshift the can transaxle onlyas high as theshift lever position you've chosen, so you should use the lower gears only when necessary. See "Automatic Transaxle"in the Index. 4-8 -
