Parking Brake andAutomatic Transaxle PARK (P) Mechanism Check 1 I Park on a fairly ste,ep with the vehicle facing hill, downhill. Keeping your foot on the regular brake, set the parking brake. To check the parking brake: With the engine running and transaxle in NEUTRAL (N), slowly remove foot pressure from the regular brake pedal. this until Do the vehicleis held by theparking brake only. When you are doing this check, your vehicle could beginto move. You or otherscould be injured and property could damaged. Make be room in front of your vehicle in case sure there is it beginsto roll. Be ready to apply the regular brake at once should the vehicle beginto move. To check the PARK (P) mechanism's holding ability: Shift to PARK (P). Then release all brakes. Underbody Flushing Service At least every spring, use plain water to flush any corrosive materials from the underbody.
