Checking the Fluid Level ' Park your vehicleon a level place. Keepthe engine running. With the parking brake applied, placethe shift lever in PARK (P). Then, without shuttingoff the engine, follow these steps: I 0 With your foot on the brake pedal, move the shift lever through each gear range, pausing for about three secondsin each range. Then, position the shift lever in PARK (P). Let the engine run at idle for three to five minutes. 1. The automatic transaxle dipstick handle is red. Pull and out the dipstick wipe it with aclean rag or paper towel. 2. h s h it back in all the way, wait threeseconds and then pullit back out again. 6-18
