Device Configuration Menu Chapter 4 Configuring Settings on the Cisco Unified IP Phone Ethernet Configuration Menu The Ethernet Configuration menu includes the options that are described in Table 4-17. Table 4-17 Ethernet Configuration Menu Option Option Forwarding Delay Span to PC Port Description To Change Indicates whether the internal switch begins forwarding packets between the PC port and switched port on the phone when the phone becomes active. From Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration, choose Device > Phone > Phone Configuration. • When forwarding delay is set to disabled, the internal switch begins forwarding packets immediately. • When forwarding delay is set to enabled, the internal switch waits 8 seconds before forwarding packets between the PC port and the switch port. Default is disabled. Indicates whether the phone will forward From Cisco Unified Communications Manager packets transmitted and received on the network Administration, choose Device > Phone > Phone port to the access port. Configuration. Enable this option if an application that requires monitoring of the phone's traffic is being run on the access port. These applications include monitoring and recording applications (common in call center environments) and network packet capture tools that are used for diagnostic purposes. Security Configuration Menu The Security Configuration menu that you display from the Device Configuration menu displays settings that relate to security for the phone. Note The phone also has a Security Configuration menu that you access directly from the Settings menu.
