Using your fingers or a non-metallic object, gently pry up the RTC battery 1 and lift it out of the battery socket 2. Note: If you are clearing the CMOS attributes, keep the battery out for at least 10 seconds before replacing it. To replace the RTC battery, press the battery firmly into the socket, and reassemble the remaining components by reversing their removal procedures.
