To install a second processor: 1. If the server is on, turn it off and disconnect the power cord. 2. Disconnect any other external equipment connected to the computer. 3. Remove the processor cage, turn it over, and loosen the thumbscrew to open the cage. 4. Install the processor in the vacant Slot 1 socket and the processor power module in the PPM socket next to the Slot 1 socket. Close the latches. timber38.eps Figure 3-20. To install a second processor, refer to one of the following installation

To install a second processor:
1.
If the server is on, turn it off and disconnect the power cord.
2.
Disconnect any other external equipment connected to the computer.
3.
Remove the processor cage, turn it over, and loosen the thumbscrew to
open the cage.
4.
Install the processor in the vacant Slot 1 socket and the processor power
module in the PPM socket next to the Slot 1 socket. Close the latches.
