DES-3226S Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Switch User's Guide You can determine the current switch stack status from the console by entering the show stacking command. Figure 1-4. Show Stacking Command The current stacking status of the switch stack is displayed along with the individual switch's stacking mode. In the above case, there are two switches in the stack and they are both in AUTO mode. The stacking mode refers to the method the switches in the switch stack will use to determine which switch is selected as the Master switch. AUTO mode uses a comparison of the individual switch's MAC addresses − the switch with the lowest numerical value MAC address becomes the Master switch. Detailed instructions for configuring and managing a switch stack are given in the User's Guide, while details concerning the switch stacking commands are given in the section titled "Stacking Configuration Commands" in this manual. 16 Introduction

Introduction
You can determine the current switch stack status from the console
