Appendix D Problem Solving and Maintenance This appendix presents solutions for possible problems, explanations of the LQ's advanced features, and tips on maintaining and transporting your printer. General Troubleshooting Problem Printer does not print Recommendation Make sure that the printer is turned on, and that the POWER light is on. Make sure that the printer is on line-the ON LINE light should be on, and the display should show [ON LINE]. Make sure that the printer and computer are connected. Be certain you are using the correct cable. Make sure the printer is only connected to one interface and that you have selected that interface with SelecType (see Chapter 2). If the program you are using allows you to choose between screen output and printer output, make sure that you have selected printer output. If the printer still does not print. try the self test procedure (see Chapter 1). If the self test works correctly the printer is all right, and the problem lies elsewhere. Printer does not print
Problem
This appendix presents solutions for possible problems, explanations
of the LQ’s advanced features, and tips on maintaining and transporting
your printer.
General Troubleshooting
Recommendation
Make sure that the printer is turned on,
and that the POWER light is on.
Make sure that the printer is on line-the
ON LINE light should be on, and the
display should show [ON
LINE].
Make sure that the printer and computer
are connected. Be certain you are using
the correct cable.
Make sure the printer is only connected
to one interface and that you have
selected that interface with SelecType
