The Serial Interface The LQ-2500 standard serial interface is an RS-232C interface with the following characteristics: Synchronization Asynchronous Data format 1 start bit data word length: 8 bits odd, even or no parity 1 stop bit Baud rate 300, 600, 1200,4800,9600, 19,200 bps Signal level mark (1) -3 V to -27 V space(O) +3 V to +27 V Handshaking Handshaking by DTR signal or X-on/X-off. The DTR signal changes to "mark"-meaning the printer is not ready to receive data-when the number of bytes free in the input buffer goes down to 256. The signal changes to 'space"-meaning that the printer is now ready-when the number of bytes free in the input buffer rises to 528. The arrangement of pins is shown in the figure below: Figure H-2.
