Interface (31) SECURITY ERASE PREPARE (F3h) The SECURITY ERASE UNIT command feature is enabled by issuing the SECURITY ERASE PREPARE command and then the SECURITY ERASE UNIT command. The SECURITY ERASE PREPARE command prevents data from being erased unnecessarily by the SECURITY ERASE UNIT command. Issuing this command during FROZEN MODE returns the Aborted Command error. This command also invalidates the user password and releases the lock function. The host transfers the 512-byte data shown in Table 5.13 to the device. The device compares the user password or master password in the transferred data with the user password or master password already set. The device erases user data, invalidates the user password, and releases the lock function if the passwords are the same. 5-78 C141-E120-02EN
