GTR installations must comply with current transmitter licensing requirements. If an aircraft license is required, make application for a license on FCC form 404, Application for Aircraft Radio Station License. The FCC also has a fax-on-demand service to provide forms by fax. Outside the US, contact the responsible telecommunication authority. The GTR owner accepts all responsibility for obtaining the proper licensing before using the transceiver. The maximum transmitting power, modulation identification, and frequency band information may be required for licensing and are detailed in Section 1.3.4. 1.3.6 Aircraft Radio An aircraft radio station license is not required when operating in U.S. airspace, but may be required when operating internationally.
