Appendix Introduction The following procedures describe how to: • Add a second switch to the EZPilot SAN • Add a second disk shelf to the EVA4100 array Adding a Second Switch To add a second switch: 1. Cable the new switch in an HA configuration and add it to the EZPilot SAN. 2. Open EZPilot Manager on the management host. 3. The discovery cycle will recognize the new switch and add it to the discovery tree. 4. Click on the new switch. You are prompted to set the switch's IP address, subnet mask and gateway. Enter the required information and click OK. A dialog box appears confirming that the switch has been successfully configured. Adding a Second Disk Shelf There are two ways to add a second disk shelf: • Adding New Disks to a New Disk Group • Adding New Disks to the Existing Default Disk Group Adding New Disks to a New Disk Group All of the disks in a disk group must be of the same type (FC or FATA). At least 8 disks must be added in the second disk shelf to create a complete new disk group. To add new disks to a new disk group: 1. Close EZPilot Manager on the management server and power down the EVA4100. 2. Add the new shelf and associated disks to the EVA and the controllers' drive loops. Follow the instructions in the EVA User Guide, which can be found on the HP Web site. 3. Power on the EVA4100. 4. Modify a Windows account to make it a member of the HP Storage Admins group if this has not already been done. 5. Run Command View on the management server. To do this, double-click on the desktop Command View EVA icon and log in to Command View using the Windows account that is a member of the HP Storage Admins group. 6. In the left pane of the Command View Web page, click on the array name under Storage Systems to expand the tree of array properties. 7. In the tree, click the Disk Groups folder to expand it. Then click the Ungrouped Disks folder. You should see all of the newly added disks from the second shelf. 8. Under Disk Groups click on Create Group in the right pane. Enter a name and save it.
