USB Support HP provides both standard USB support and legacy USB support. Standard support is provided by the operating system through the appropriate USB device drivers. HP provides support for USB devices prior to the operating system loading through legacy USB support, which is enabled by default in the system ROM. HP hardware supports USB version 1.1 in the system ROM. Legacy USB support provides USB functionality in environments where USB support is normally not available. Specifically, HP provides legacy USB functionality at: • POST • RBSU • Diagnostics • DOS • Environments which do not support USB natively For more information on ProLiant USB support, refer to the HP website (http://www.compaq.com/products/servers/platforms/usb-support.html). Redundant ROM Support The server enables you to upgrade or configure the ROM safely with redundant ROM support. The server has a 4-MB ROM that acts as two, separate 2-MB ROMs. In the standard implementation, one side of the ROM contains the current ROM program version, while the other side of the ROM contains a backup version. NOTE: The server ships with the same version programmed on each side of the ROM.
