Base enclosure Description Base enclosure (includes battery release latch assembly, rubber feet, and service cover release latch assembly) Spare part number 693301-001 Before removing the base enclosure, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 45), and then remove the following components: a. Service cover (see Service cover on page 47) b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 48) c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 51) d. WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 53) e. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 58) NOTE: When replacing the base enclosure, be sure to remove the following components from the defective base enclosure and install them on the replacement base enclosure: ● Audio board (see Audio board on page 67) ● Speakers (see Speakers on page 68) ● Power switch board (see Power switch board on page 70) Remove the base enclosure: 1. Before removing the base enclosure, follow these steps:
