Camera Care The Imager The imager records light when you capture an image. If it should get dirty, the quality of your images can be affected. Determining if the Imager Even though the imager is located inside the camera, it can get dirty. There is Dirty are two ways to determine whether it needs cleaning: • Examine a test image and look for imperfections that indicate dirt on the imager. • Visually inspect the imager for dirt. Examining a Test Image 1. Set the lens aperture to its highest f-stop to provide for maximum depth of field. 2. Capture an image of a plain white object, such as a clean, white wall. 3. Examine the image on the computer using the KODAK PROFESSIONAL DCS Photo Desk software. Imperfections in the image, such as dark clusters or streaks, may indicate a dirty imager. April 29, 2004 14-3
