FRU 1 Paper Tray 1 2 Paper Detect Sensor Paper Detect Sensor Board 3 CST Cable Engine Board 4 Paper Feed Roller Paper Pick up Roller Pick up Gear Pick up Roller Idler Gears Action Check tray 1 for anything that might cause the paper to jam in the tray, or prevent media from exiting. Check the paper detect sensor lever (flag) in the paper feed unit assembly for correct operation, or if broken. Replace the lever (flag), if necessary. Check the paper detect sensor for correct operation. If incorrect, replace the sensor. Check continuity of the cable. • If incorrect, replace the cable. • If correct, replace the engine board. Check the following paper feed parts for signs of broken teeth, excessive wear, or binding: • paper feed unit clutch. • paper feed roller shaft, paper transfer roller drive gear and paper feed roller. • Paper transfer roller and paper transfer roller idler gears. • Paper pick up roller, paper pick up gear and pick up roller idler gears.
