Troubleshooting and Error Messages Troubleshooting and Error Messages Troubleshooting Problem The handset does not work. The handset does not ring. You cannot make/receive a call. You cannot dial. Possible Cause Solution The batteries are drained. Charge the batteries fully. (See "Charging the Batteries" on page 6.) The power is off. Ringer volume is set to "Off". Re-insert the batteries, and then set the handset on the charger. (See "Battery Installation" on page 5, and "Charging the Batteries" on page 6.) Adjust the ringer volume level. (See "Adjusting the Ringer Volume" on page 15.) Silent Mode is set to "On", or is displayed on the LCD. Press for more than 2 seconds to cancel the Silent Mode. The handset is out of range, or the CS is busy. Move closer to the CS or try again later. The radio channel is busy, or a radio communication error occurred. Try again later. The number that you dialed Consult your dealer. is restricted by the PBX. Key lock mode is on. To cancel the mode, press for about 2 seconds. The radio channel is busy or a radio communication error occurred. (See "Key Lock" on page 9.) Try again later. 68
