Chapter 4 Shooting - Adjustable settings when shooting Focus bar display [FOCUS BAR] The focus bar can be displayed when [ON] is set in the main menu → [DISPLAY SETUP] → [FOCUS BAR]. The degree of focus is indicated by the length of the bar. ffWhite bar: Focus bar display ffGreen line: Peak display Not in focus The bar extends to the right when the viewfinder is in-focus. Area mode function You can perform the following operations by displaying the area frame with the control stick. ffArea auto focus function Auto focus operation is performed within the area selected with the area frame. ffArea auto iris function The iris value is adjusted automatically within the area selected with the area frame. ffArea brightness display The luminance level of the center of the selected area frame is displayed. Operation function settings Set the operations to be assigned to the area mode function from the main menu. 1 Select the desired function in the main menu → [SW MODE] → [AREA MODE]. ff[INHIBIT]: Does not assign a function. ff[FOCUS]: Area focus function and area focus bar function (When [FOCUS BAR] is set) ff[IRIS]: Area iris function ff[Y GET]: Area brightness display ff[FOCUS/IRIS]: Simultaneous operation of area focus function/area iris function, and area focus bar function (When [FOCUS BAR] is set) ff[FOCUS/Y GET]: Simultaneous operation of area focus function/area brightness display, and area focus bar function (When [FOCUS BAR] is set) Operation of area mode function The function set in the main menu → [SW MODE] → [AREA MODE] can be used by performing the following operation when shooting or while in shooting standby. 1 Press the control stick. ffAn area frame (white) is displayed. 2 Press the control stick upward/downward/to the left/to the right to move the area frame to a desired position. 3 Press the control stick. ffThe area frame color changes from white to yellow. ffWhen the yellow frame is displayed, the function set for [AREA MODE] can be operated in the area frame. ffWhile the function is activated, [AREA] is displayed on the right of the display. ffWhen the area brightness display is activated, the brightness display in the center does not operate. 4 Press the control stick for two seconds or longer. ffThe area frame disappears and the camera exits the area mode function. @@NOTE tt The area mode function is released when the power is turned off or when a video is played back. - 50 -

Focus bar display [FOCUS BAR]

The focus bar can be displayed when [ON] is set in the main menu

The degree of focus is indicated by the length of the bar.

White bar: Focus bar display

Green line: Peak display

Not in focus

The bar extends to the right when the viewfinder is

in-focus.

Area mode function

You can perform the following operations by displaying the area frame with the control stick.
