The camera goes into the background recording mode. 2 Press the recording button. Recording starts on slot 1 and 2 simultaneously, and [BACKGR] is displayed on the screen. Recording on slot 1 can be started or stopped by recording button operations. On slot 2, the recording operation continues as background recording. @@NOTE tt Recording on both slot 1 and 2 are performed in the format set in the main menu → [SYSTEM MODE]. tt Background recording cannot be performed in the following cases. - When other than [NORMAL] is set in the main menu → [RECORDING SETUP] → [RECORDING] - When [P2] is set in the main menu → [RECORDING SETUP] → [REC MEDIA] - When other than [OFF] is set in the main menu → [RECORDING SETUP] → [DUAL CODEC SETTING] tt When [4G/LTE] is set in the main menu → [NETWORK SETUP] → [NETWORK SEL], normal recording can be performed on slot 1. tt The lighting status of tally lamp changes according to starting or stopping of recording on slot 1. tt Time code is fixed to free run. tt The settings in the main menu → [OUTPUT SEL] → [HD SDI REMOTE] is disabled. Controlling of recording operation of external devices (such as a recorder) cannot be performed. tt In background recording mode, deleting last clip function is disabled. tt Even while background recording is performed on slot 2, if recording on slot 1 is being stopped, microP2 memory card in slot 1 can be replaced. tt If a recordable microP2 memory card is not inserted in slot 2 or the free space of the microP2 memory card in slot 2 has run out, normal recording can be performed on slot 1. To end background recording 1 Hold down the USER button to which [BACKGR REC PAUSE] has been assigned for approx. five seconds. The background recording on slot 2 will be stopped. The [BACKGR] indication is displayed with a diagonal line. @@NOTE tt While recording is performed on slot 1, the background recording on slot 2 cannot be ended. End the background recording while recording is stopped on slot 1. tt The background recording on slot 2 ends in the following cases. - When the power is turned off - When the free space of the microP2 memory card has run out - When an error has occurred on writing to the microP2 memory card - When the USER button to which [BACKGR REC PAUSE] has been assigned is held down for approx. five seconds Hot swap recording When microP2 memory cards are inserted into two microP2 memory card slots, recording can be performed continuously across two cards. Also, the card other than the one currently being recorded to can be swapped and recording can be continued on three or more cards (hot swap recording). Note, however, microP2 memory card recognition might slow down depending on the timing (immediately after pre-recording or before and after continuous recording across two card slots) when the microP2 memory card is inserted into the vacant card slot. When inserting microP2 memory card, make sure that there is at least one minute of free space on the card to be recorded to. Pressing the button allows you to change the slot to be recorded to with one touch. - 71 -
