End the background recording while recording is stopped on slot 1. tt The background recording on slot 2 ends in the following cases. - When the power is turned off - When the free space of the microP2 memory card has run out - When an error has occurred on writing to the microP2 memory card - When the USER button to which [BACKGR REC PAUSE] has been assigned is held down for approx. five seconds Hot swap recording When microP2 memory cards are inserted into two microP2 memory card slots, recording can be performed continuously across two cards. Also, the card other than the one currently being recorded to can be swapped and recording can be continued on three or more cards (hot swap recording). Note, however, microP2 memory card recognition might slow down depending on the timing (immediately after pre-recording or before and after continuous recording across two card slots) when the microP2 memory card is inserted into the vacant card slot. When inserting microP2 memory card, make sure that there is at least one minute of free space on the card to be recorded to. Pressing the button allows you to change the slot to be recorded to with one touch. - 71 -

The camera goes into the background recording mode.

Recording starts on slot 1 and 2 simultaneously, and [BACKGR] is displayed on the screen.
Recording on slot 1 can be started or stopped by recording button operations.
On slot 2, the recording operation continues as background recording.

To end background recording

The background recording on slot 2 will be stopped. The [BACKGR] indication is displayed with a diagonal line.

The background recording on slot 2 ends in the following cases.

When the free space of the microP2 memory card has run out

When an error has occurred on writing to the microP2 memory card

When the USER button to which [BACKGR REC PAUSE] has been assigned is held down for approx. five seconds
Hot swap recording
When microP2 memory cards are inserted into two microP2 memory card slots, recording can be performed continuously across two cards.
Also, the card other than the one currently being recorded to can be swapped and recording can be continued on three or more cards (hot swap
recording).
Note, however, microP2 memory card recognition might slow down depending on the timing (immediately after pre-recording or before and after
continuous recording across two card slots) when the microP2 memory card is inserted into the vacant card slot. When inserting microP2 memory card,
make sure that there is at least one minute of free space on the card to be recorded to.
Pressing the <SLOT SEL> button allows you to change the slot to be recorded to with one touch.
