This setting can only be changed when the component video output selection switch on the rear panel is set to "menu select" (page 16). Settings: Progressive (Select for high image quality when the connected TV, monitor, or projector is progressive compatible. Interlace (Select when the connected TV, monitor, or projector is not progressive-compatible.) (Factory setting) Auto Progressive (Switches to progressive scan when 16:9 DVD discs are played, 4:3 DVD discs uses interlace setting. Your TV/monitor must be compatible with progressive scan to use this setting. Notes • When the connected TV, monitor, or projector is not progressive- compatible, but "Progressive" is selected in this setting, no images are produced. If a mistake is made in this setting, change the video component output switch on the rear panel to "525i (480i)". • When the video output is switched from Interlace to Progressive or from Progressive to Interlace, the video image may be disrupted for a moment. When component connections are made to a TV that is progressive-
compatible, the video output format can be switched between
interlace and progressive scan as determined by the kind of image that
is being played back. This setting can only be changed when the
component video output selection switch on the rear panel is set to
"menu select"
