Basic Network Installation Basic TCP/IP Settings Before the printer can be used on the network, the TCP/IP addresses need to be entered. These can be entered automatically using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) or Bootstrap Protocol (BOOTP) or entered manually. To enter the addresses manually, you need to obtain the following: ¾ TCP/IP Address ¾ Gateway Address ¾ Subnet Mask Address ¾ Primary DNS Server Address Installation Procedure There are three stages required to install the WorkCentre 4118 / FaxCentre 2218 in a TCP/IP networking environment: ¾ Network Communication Setup This requires the WorkCentre 4118 / FaxCentre 2218 to be setup for TCP/IP. ¾ Workstation Setup This requires the workstations in the networking environment to be configured to communicate with the WorkCentre 4118 / FaxCentre 2218. ¾ Test Print A print job should be submitted to ensure the WorkCentre 4118 / FaxCentre 2218 has been installed and configured correctly.
