It is the maximum data fragment size that can be sent. Enter an even number between 256 and 2346. Beacon Interval DTIM Preamble CTS Protection This field is not available when Super Mode is selected. When a wirelessly networked device sends a beacon, it includes with it a beacon interval. This specifies the time period before the device sends the beacon again. The interval tells receiving devices on the network how long they can wait in lowpower mode before waking up to handle the beacon. This value can be set from 20ms to 1000ms. A high value helps save current consumption of the access point. Delivery Traffic Indication Message (DTIM) is the time period after which broadcast and multicast packets are transmitted to mobile clients in the Active Power Management mode. A high DTIM value can cause clients to lose connectivity with the network. This value can be set from 1 to 100. A preamble affects the timing in your wireless network. There are two preamble modes: long and short. If a device uses a different preamble mode than the NBG417N does, it cannot communicate with the NBG-417N. When set to None, the NBG-417N protects wireless communication against interference. When set to Always, the NBG-417N improves performance within mixed wireless modes. Tx Power Enable IntraBSS Traffic Select Auto to let the NBG-417N determine whether to turn this feature on or off in the current environment. This field controls the transmission power of the NBG-417N. When using the NBG417N with a notebook computer, select a lower transmission power level when you are close to the AP in order to conserve battery power. A Basic Service Set (BSS) exists when all communications between wireless clients or between a wireless client and a wired network client go through one access point (AP). Apply Reset Intra-BSS traffic is traffic between wireless clients in the BSS. When Intra-BSS is enabled, wireless client A and B can access the wired network and communicate with each other. When Intra-BSS is disabled, wireless client A and B can still access the wired network but cannot communicate with each other. Click Apply to save your changes back to the NBG-417N.
