Chapter 6: Installing the Driver on an Existing Operating System l 29 Installing on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 1 Insert the Windows setup CD. 2 Right-click the Computer and select Manage. 3 From the Computer Management, select Device Manager to open the list. 4 Under Other Devices, select SAS Controller. 5 Right-click SAS Controller and select Update Driver Software. 6 Browse the installation path of the driver and click Next. 7 Once the installation is complete a message appears "Windows has finished installing the driver software for this device". Installing on Red Hat or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server To install the module on Red Hat or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server: 1 Insert and mount the Installation CD: Red Hat-mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom SuSE-mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom 2 Install the module RPM: rpm -ivh mount-point/xxx/yyy.rpm where mount-point is the specific mount point on the Linux system, xxx is the driver path, and yyy.rpm is the rpm file. 3 Once the installation is complete, verify if the adpinv.ko is available in the following location. /lib/modules/current-kernel/kernel/drivers/scsi 4 Now restart the system to successfully load the driver packages.
