Chapter 9: Solving Problems l 42 Troubleshooting Checklist If you encounter difficulties installing or using the SATA/SAS controller, check these items first: ● With your computer powered off, check the connections to each disk device, the power supply, the LED connector, and so on. ● Try disconnecting and reconnecting devices from the SATA/SAS controller. ● Check if the SATA/SAS controller is installed in a compatible expansion slot. To doublecheck the bus compatibility of your controller, see SATA/SAS Controller Features on page 12. To double-check the PCIe slot compatibility of your system/motherboard, refer to the system's documentation. ● Ensure that the SATA/SAS controller is firmly seated and secured in the PCIe expansion slot. ● If the SATA/SAS controller is not detected during system boot, try installing it in a different expansion slot. See Installing the SATA/SAS Controller on page 18 for instructions. ● Did the driver install correctly? ● If you are still unable to resolve a problem, you can find additional troubleshooting information and direction on the Adaptec Web site at www.adaptec.com and the Adaptec Support Knowledgebase at ask.adaptec.com.

Troubleshooting Checklist
If you encounter difficulties installing or using the SATA/SAS controller, check these items first:
With your computer powered off, check the connections to each disk device, the power
supply, the LED connector, and so on.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting devices from the SATA/SAS controller.
Check if the SATA/SAS controller is installed in a compatible expansion slot. To double-
