USB Device Storage 4. Tap Local Storage. The USB Device status shows whether the USB storage device is ready, must be formatted, or is full. Safely eject and remove a USB storage device USB storage devices must be safely ejected so that recordings don't occur as you're removing them. Removing a USB storage device while it is in use can permanently disable it. The files on the USB storage device might be corrupted. If you remove the only USB storage device that is connected to your base station, USB recording is disabled until you connect another USB storage device. If another USB storage device is still connected to your base station and USB recording is turned on, recording is automatically enabled on that USB storage device. ¾¾ To safely eject and remove a USB storage device: 1. Open the Arlo app. 2. Tap Settings > My Devices. 3. Tap the base station. 4. Tap Local Storage. The Local Storage page displays. Connected USB storage devices are numbered to match the USB ports on the base station. If you're not sure which device to remove, check the number on the base station USB port into which the USB storage device is inserted. 5. Tap the USB storage device that you want to remove. 6. Tap Safely Eject USB Device. 7. Wait for the Unmounting USB storage device progress message to close, and then remove the USB storage device from your base station. The settings on the page gray out to show that the USB storage device is ejected. The camera stops recording onto the USB storage device. The USB storage device can now be safely removed. 41
