Alternate Setup Method Setting your ISP Connection Type to PPPoE or PPPoA PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is the standard method of connecting networked devices. It requires a user name and password to access the network of your ISP for connecting to the Internet. PPPoA (PPP over ATM) is similar to PPPoE, but is mostly implemented in the UK. Select PPPoE or PPPoA and click "Next". Then enter the information provided by your ISP, and click "Apply Changes" to activate your settings. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) 1. Setting your ISP Connection Type to PPPoE or PPPoA

access the network of your ISP for connecting to the Internet. PPPoA (PPP
over ATM) is similar to PPPoE, but is mostly implemented in the UK. Select
PPPoE or PPPoA and click “Next”. Then enter the information provided by
your ISP, and click “Apply Changes” to activate your settings.

- Enter the user name. (Assigned by your ISP).

Password
- Enter your password. (Assigned by your ISP).

Retype Password
- Confirm the password. (Assigned by your ISP).

VPI/VCI
- Enter your Virtual Path Identifier (VPI) and Virtual Circuit
Identifier (VCI) parameter here. (Assigned by your ISP).

Encapsulation
- Select your encapsulation type (supplied by
your ISP) to specify how to handle multiple protocols at the ATM
transport layer.
