Removal and Replacement Procedures 2-17 Hard Drives To remove a hard drive from the hard drive bay: 1. Power down the server. See "Powering Down the Server" earlier in this chapter. 2. Remove the access panel. See "Access Panel" earlier in this chapter. 3. Disconnect the SCSI or ATA cables from the hard drive(s) . See "Two-Device Terminated SCSI Cable (Models 20 and 30)" or "ATA Cable" later in this chapter. 4. Disconnect the hard drive power cable from the hard drive(s) . 5. Remove the hard drive and hard drive tray by performing the following steps: a. Loosen the thumbscrew that secures the hard drive tray to the chassis . b. Hard Drives
To remove a hard drive from the hard drive bay:
1.
Power down the server. See “Powering Down the Server” earlier in this chapter.
2.
Remove the access panel. See “Access Panel” earlier in this chapter.
3.
Disconnect the SCSI or ATA cables from the hard drive(s)

4.
Disconnect the hard drive power cable from the hard drive(s)

5.
Remove the hard drive and hard drive tray by performing the following steps:
a.
