Removal and Replacement Procedures 2-35 Power Supply IMPORTANT: A "Fan 6 Error" indicates an error from one of the power supply fans. When this error occurs, you must replace the entire power supply unit. To remove the power supply: 1. Power down the server. See "Powering Down the Server" earlier in this chapter. 2. Remove the access panel. See "Access Panel" earlier in this chapter. 3. Remove the PCI riser board assembly. See "PCI Riser Board Assembly" earlier in this chapter. 4. Remove the center wall. See "Center Wall" earlier in this chapter. 5. Disconnect the hard drive power cables from the hard drives . 6. Disconnect the power supply cable from the power supply connector on the system board by pressing the locking tab on the side of the connector and pulling upward . 7. Remove the two Phillips-head screws that secure the power supply unit to the chassis . 8. Slide the power supply away from the back of the chassis, and then lift it from the server . 1 2 1 4 3 3 Figure 2-30. Power Supply
IMPORTANT:

indicates an error from one of the power supply fans. When this error
occurs, you must replace the entire power supply unit.
To remove the power supply:
1.
Power down the server. See “Powering Down the Server” earlier in this chapter.
2.
Remove the access panel. See “Access Panel” earlier in this chapter.
3.

4.

5.
