Windows Client Agents Configuration Manually Add a Client Agent to a UNIX or Linux Server To manually add a client agent to a UNIX or Linux server, you must add each client agent machine using the Database Manager. To add a client agent, follow these steps: 1. Open the Database Manager and click the Clients tab. 2. Click the Add button. 3. Enter the name and IP address of the machine that has the client agent installed. If you do not know the IP address, enter only the machine name. All other fields are optional and appear only for reference on the Client tab of the Database Manager. 4. Click OK. Note: As an alternative method for adding client agents to a UNIX or Linux server, you can use the ca_dbmgr command line utility using the following syntax: ca_dbmgr -client add hostname [ -ip nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn ] [ -os type] For example: ca_dbmgr -client add UnixName -ip 127.0.0.0 -os UNIX For more information on command line utilities, see the Administrator Guide. Note: If you restarted the client agent, the connection must be refreshed. To refresh the connection, collapse and expand the branch for the workstation.
