Prerequisites 1 Remove the base cover. 2 Remove the battery. 3 Remove the solid-state drive (in SSD2 slot). 4 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 4 in Removing the hard drive. 5 Remove the speakers. 6 Remove the computer base. Procedure 1 Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board. 2 Peel off the touchpad cable from the touchpad bracket. 3 Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad-button cable from the touchpad. 4 Remove the five screws (M2x2.5) that secure the touchpad bracket to the palm-rest assembly. 5 Slide the touchpad bracket at an angle and lift it off the palm-rest assembly. 48

Prerequisites

Remove the
base cover

Remove the
battery
.

Remove the
solid-state drive

Procedure
1
Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.

Peel off the touchpad cable from the touchpad bracket.
3
Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad-button cable from the touchpad.
4
Remove the five screws (M2x2.5) that secure the touchpad bracket to the palm-rest assembly.
5
Slide the touchpad bracket at an angle and lift it off the palm-rest assembly.
