12 Installation instructions Requirements for alcove or closet installation Your dryer is approved for installation in an alcove or closet (as specified on the dryer back). WARNING! When installing a dryer in a closet alcove it MUST be exhausted to the outdoors. No other fuel burning appliance can be installed in the same closet or alcove. The total ventilation area must be a minimum of 60 sq. in. (387 cm2) of open area equally distributed. If the closet contains both a washer and a dryer, doors must contain a minimum of 120 sq. in. (774 cm2) of open area equally distributed. The openings must never be obstructed (a louvered door with the minimum air opening is acceptable).
