Configuration Jumpers

Page 97 highlights

For those server applications that require a DB9 type serial connector, the 8-pin RJ45-to-DB9 (A6900-63003) adapter included in the accessories kit, must be used. NOTES 1. The RJ45-to-DB9 adapter should match the configuration of the serial device used. One of two pinouts configurations are used depending on whether the serial device requires a DSR or DCD signal. The final adapter configuration should also match the desired pinout of the RJ45 connector, as it can also be configured to support either DSR or DCD. 2. For systems configured with both a front and rear RJ45 serial connectors, the adapters used for the rear port cannot be used with the front port, as the pin-out for both RJ45 ports are different. Configuration Jumpers This section describes the jumper blocks that control various configuration options. Figure 32 shows the names and location of the configuration jumpers. The shaded areas show the default jumper placement for each configurable option. Table 18 describes the system recovery and update jumper options.
