infrared printing with a Windows CE device 1. Locate the infrared lens on the Windows CE device. See the device's operating manual for the location of the infrared lens. 2. Align the infrared lens on the Windows CE device with the printer's infrared lens. The Windows CE device should be positioned no more than one meter (three feet) from the printer and within a 30-degree total angle from the printer's infrared lens. 3. Remove any obstacles between the CE device and the printer. 4. Open the file you want to print. 5. Open the Printer Properties dialog box. 6. Choose PCL inkjet in the Printer box. 7. Select IRDA in the Port box. 8. Click OK. The infrared icon projects a solid beam on the printer during the information transfer process. When information transfer is complete, the icon disappears. 78

Align the infrared lens on the Windows CE device with the printer’s
infrared lens.
