Installing driver over the network • Before installing, check whether your computer's OS support the software (see "Operating System" on page 8). • The machine that does not support the network interface, it will not be able to use this feature (see "Rear view" on page 23). • You need to download software packages from the HP website to install the printer software. For HP's all-inclusive help for the printer, go to www.hp.com/support/colorlaser170MFP. Windows The firewall software might be blocking network communication. Before connecting the device to the network, disable the computer's firewall. 1 Make sure that the machine is connected to the network and powered on. Also, your machine's IP address should have been set (see "Setting IP address" on page 55). 2 Download printer driver software from the HP website. (www.hp.com/support/colorlaser170MFP). 3 Turn on the machine. 4 Unzip the driver package and run the driver installer. 5 Follow the instructions in the installation window.
