Under Windows, select the Admin tab then Printer settings > Printing preferences. Under Mac OS X, select Printer settings > Printing preferences. 2. Select one of the following options. ● Select Automatic to let the printer determine which type of file it is receiving. This is the default setting; it works for most software applications. You should not normally need to change it. ● Select HP-GL/2 only if you are sending a file of that type directly to the printer, without going through a printer driver. ● Select PDF only if you are sending a file of that type directly to the printer, without going through a printer driver (with the PostScript/PDF upgrade). ● Select PostScript only if you are sending a file of that type directly to the printer, without going through a printer driver (only with the PostScript/PDF upgrade). ● Select TIFF only if you are sending a file of that type directly to the printer, without going through a printer driver (only with the PostScript/PDF upgrade). ● Select JPEG only if you are sending a file of that type directly to the printer, without going through a printer driver (only with the PostScript/PDF upgrade). You can change the graphic language setting from the front panel. Select the Setup menu icon , then Printing preferences > Select graphic language. Select the desired option and press the OK key to set the value. NOTE: If the graphic language is set from the HP DesignJet Utility, it overrides the front panel setting. Personalize the list of paper types If there are some paper types that you never use, you can remove them from the list shown in the front panel, the Embedded Web Server and the HP DesignJet Utility. 1.
