● Verify that there is 24 V between pins 4 and 5. If there is no 24 V, replace the sensor. 2. Open the electronics cabinet door and examine the splice detector molex connectors: ● Verify that pin 4 (brown) and pin 5 (blue) are not loose. If they are loose, secure them. ● Verify that there is 24 V in the W2508 connector, between pins 4 and 5. If there is no 24 V, replace cable W2505. Verify that there is 24 V between pins 4 and 5. If there is no 24 V, replace the sensor.
2.
Open the electronics cabinet door and examine the splice detector molex connectors:
Verify that pin 4 (brown) and pin 5 (blue) are not loose. If they are loose, secure them.
Verify that there is 24 V in the W2508 connector, between pins 4 and 5. If there is no 24 V,
replace cable W2505.
False detection (signal from sensor to WHS)
Follow these steps false detection (signal from sensor to WHS)
1.
Clean the detection sensor with a dry cloth.
2.
Verify that there are no wrinkling in the substrate.
3.
Verify that the substrate thickness is between 12 and 400 micron.
4.
For a reinsertion job, verify that fewer than 4 separations are printed on the scanned substrate.
5.
Verify that the distance between the sensor transmitter and receiver is 40 ±2 mm.
6.
Verify that the distance from the sensor transmitter/receiver to the substrate foil is 7 mm.
7.
Open the electronics cabinet, and install a keypad on drive FP.
8.
Go to address 19.34 and start to print.
9.
During printing, observe that FP address 19.34 is 1 (splice detected) even though there is no splice in
the substrate, that is, a false detection.
10.
Disconnect the sensor connector and observe FP address 19.34
11.
If FP address 19.34 changes to 0, do the following:
a.
Reconnect the sensor connector and observe FP address 19.34
b.
If it changes again to 1, replace the sensor.
12.
If FP address 19.34 remains 1, open the electronics cabinet and disconnect the W2505 connector.
13.
If FP address 19.34 changes to 0, do the following:
a.
Reconnect the W2505 connector and observe FP address 19.34
b.
If it changes again to 1, replace cable W2505.
14.
If FP address 19.34 remains 1, do the following:
a.
Disconnect pin 27 in drive FP.
b.
If FP address 19.34 change to 0, reconnect pin 27 in drive FP and observe FP address 19.34
c.
If it changes again to 1, replace cable W2508.
