HP NetServer LC3 with HP Storage System/6 Cluster Configuration Guide 18 November 1998 Introduction This document defines the supported HP NetServer LC3 configurations for Microsoft Cluster Server. These configurations minimize single points of failure, provide maximum availability, and have been certified by Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft. This guide is prescriptive; it describes the HP NetServer LC3 configurations supported by HP. Any configuration not expressly allowed by this guide will not be supported by HP. What's Defined • Cluster • SPUs • LANs • Local Storage • Shared Storage Cluster Type of SPUs Number of nodes Shared Storage LANs: Client Intra-cluster Power source System software: Navigator version Operating System Service pack SPU Model Clock speed No. of CPUs HP NetServer LC3 Each node must be the same model SPU, but may have different size main memory and cache. 2 HP Storage System/6 with HP NetRAID controller and HP disks. See Shared Storage below. Any NIC that is HP and Microsoft approved. See Client LAN below. HP D5013A or J3171A only with crossover cable. See Intra-cluster LAN below. Direct from power mains, power conditioner or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) using any power conditioner or UPS. L.11.00 or later Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Enterprise Edition or later SP3 and hotfix "clusfixi", or later HP NetServer LC3 266 or 400 MHz. 1 - 2, but must be the same number of CPUs in each server
