Chapter 3 Integrated RA Setup and Configuration Configuring Integrated RA During the initial server setup, you run the Integrated RA Configuration Utility to configure server management operations including: • Verify Management Port settings • Set up an administrator list for system access and pager notification • Configure event management operations, including the enabling of paging • Test Integrated RA functions • Configure communications for the external modem or direct serial connection • Specify a server keyboard layout • Re-arm monitors • Specify a server name and identification number to be included with notification pages NOTE Many of the configuration tasks that you can perform with the Configuration Utility on the server can also be duplicated via the Integrated RA Management Program that you run from the remote client. See Chapter 6 for details. Checking Server BIOS Communications Parameters Before configuring the server's Integrated RA features, you need to make sure that the server's Management Port is properly set for remote connections. To check and, if necessary, reconfigure the server's Management Port parameters: 1. Boot the server and when prompted during bootup, press [F2]. The server opens the BIOS Configuration Utility. 2. From the BIOS Configuration Utility main menu go to Configuration } Integrated IO Ports | Serial Ports. The BIOS Configuration Utility displays all serial port parameters. 3. Configuring Integrated RA
During the initial server setup, you run the Integrated RA Configuration Utility to
configure server management operations including:

NOTE

Checking Server BIOS Communications Parameters
Before configuring the server's Integrated RA features, you need to make sure that
the server's Management Port is properly set for remote connections.
To check and, if necessary, reconfigure the server's Management Port parameters:
