Setting Your Graphics Configuration 3. For HP-UX 10.x only, Configure X Windows and HP CDE or HP-VUE. If your system is running HP-UX 10.x, you can configure your graphics system(s) through the HP System Administration Manager (SAM). NOTICE: If you are running HP-UX 9.x, you already configured X Windows or HP-VUE in Chapter 1. To use SAM, you must be able to log in as root or superuser. a. Start SAM from the command line using the sam command of through the System_Admin toolbox in HP-VUE or HP-CDE. b. Select the X Server Configuration option. c. Select any inactive subsystems. d. From the Actions -> menu select Add Screen to Configuration. e. Save the configuration file. f. Restart the system. Your system is now configured to use the HCRX/VME graphics controller. 3-11

For HP-UX 10.x only, Configure X Windows and HP CDE or
HP–VUE.
If your system is running HP–UX 10.x, you can configure your graphics system(s)
through the HP System Administration Manager (SAM).
NOTICE:
If you are running HP–UX 9.x, you already configured X Windows
or HP–VUE in Chapter 1.
