To insert the battery, insert the rear edge of the battery into the battery bay and pivot the front edge of the battery downward until it is seated. The battery release latch automatically locks the battery into place. Primary hard drive cover Description Primary hard drive cover Spare part number 605360-001 Before removing the primary hard drive cover, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 51). Remove the primary hard drive cover: 1. Loosen the five Phillips PM2.5×6.0 captive screws (1) that secure the primary hard drive cover to the computer. 2. Lift the primary hard drive cover (2) away from the computer. Reverse this procedure to install the primary hard drive cover. 52 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

To insert the battery, insert the rear edge of the battery into the battery bay and pivot the front edge of

Before removing the primary hard drive cover, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
51
).
Remove the primary hard drive cover:
1.
Loosen the five Phillips PM2.5×6.0 captive screws
(1)
that secure the primary hard drive cover to
the computer.
2.
Lift the primary hard drive cover
(2)
away from the computer.
Reverse this procedure to install the primary hard drive cover.
