2. Insert the primary hard drive "upside down." Align the hard drive with the primary hard drive bay in the drive cage so that the bottom of the hard drive is next to the optical drive compartment and the power and data connectors are up. Connect the data cable (1) and power cable (2) to the back of the primary hard drive. NOTE: If the system has only one SATA hard drive, the data cable must be connected to the dark blue connector labeled SATA 0 on the system board to avoid any hard drive performance problems.
