If all the internal SCSI connectors are used, additional devices can be added outside the PC by connecting directly to the rear panel SCSI connector. The external connector allows up to ten external devices to be connected. This gives a maximum of 15 (internal + external) devices that can be connected. The total length of the external SCSI cables should not exceed 3 meters (approximately 10 feet). If you are installing an additional SCSI drive, you should assign an unused SCSI ID to this accessory. SCSI IDs range from 0 to 15 for wide 16-bit SCSI. SCSI ID 0 is used by the first SCSI hard disk drive and SCSI ID 7 is reserved for the integrated SCSI controller (the default for narrow and wide SCSI devices). 34
