The xw460c blade workstation provides two network taps (NIC1 and NIC2) per blade (see Figure 3-2). This figure also shows the routing of the iLO 2 network signal. Figure 3-2 Blade network connections to Interconnect Bays 1 and 2 for the xw460c blade workstation The connector in the back of the blade brings out the NIC1, NIC2, and iLO 2 network ports. For clarity, these signals are shown only on one blade workstation. NIC1 NIC2 The 16 NIC1 Ethernet signals from the 16 blade workstations are wired to the network device in Interconnect Bay 1. The 16 NIC2 Ethernet signals are wired to the network device in Interconnect Bay 2. Network device in Interconnect Bay 1 iLO 2 Onboard Administrator OA / iLO 2 Network device in Interconnect Bay 2 Onboard Administrator OA / iLO 2 To provide redundancy, the 16 iLO 2 network ports are wired to both Onboard Administrator modules.
