Subscripts and Superscripts Subscripts are typed below the writing line (for example, CuSO4 ). Superscripts are typed above the writing line (for example, Happy Liying5 Typing Subscripts 1. Hold down Code while you press H (12/ 1). • The carrier is positioned one-half line below the typing tine. 2. Type the subscript • The carrier automatically returns to the typing line. Typing Superscripts 1. Hold down Code while you press Y (%t). • The carrier is positioned one-half line above the typing line. 2. Type the superscr€pt. • The carrier automatically returns to the typing line. Helpful Hints • To automatically erase a subscript or superscript, press the Correction key. 1. The paper will automatically move up or down a half line. 2. The subscript or superscript will be erased, 3. The paper returns to the original line. • To erase subscripts or superscripts farther back than approximately the last 200 characters: 1.
