Using the Latin Supplemental Keyboard Sometimes you may want to type accent marks, universal symbols, or Latin and Greek characters using the Latin Supplemental keyboard, ID 099. You must tell your typewriter that you are typing alternate language characters by turning on the Language (Lang) light. 1. Insert a printwheel with an 1O 099. 2. Hold down Code while you press X (Lang). • The Language (Lang) light comes on. • The printwheel spins. • The keyboard is changed to a Latin Supplemental keyboard. 3. Use the Latin Supplemental keyboard chart below to locate the characters you want to type. 4. When you finish typing in the Latin Supplemental keyboard, hold down Code while you press X (Lang). • The Language light goes ott. • The printwheel spina. • The keyboard returns to the primary keyboard. 5. Remove the 099 printwheel and install the 001 primary printwheel. • Be sure to press Code when you install the printwheel and make any print position adjustments using Bliss1, Backspace, or Spacebar. - The printwheel spins. Using Other Alternate Keyboards I. Select a keyboard and keyboard ID number for a country or special application. • See alternate keyboard charts, printer' on pages 5-8 through 5-17. 2. Insert the country or special application printwheel. • The ID number on the keyboard list should match the number on your printwheel. 3. Hold down Coda while you press X (Lang) and the keyboard ID, for example: Cods + X + 251. • The Language light comes on. • The keyboard is changed to the alternate keyboard. 4. • Find the keyboard chart that matches your keyboard ID. • Keyboard charts are on pages 5-8 through 5.17. ••• Place the chart near your typewriter. .s Use the keyboard chart to locate the character you want to type. 5. When you Knish typing in the alternate keyboard, hold down Cod• while you press X (Lang). - '..0 The Language light goes off. • The keyboard returns to the primary keyboard. t Reinstall your primary 001 printwheel.
