The Device Driver and IBM Enhanced Diagnostics CD comes with your computer. To run the IBM Enhanced Diagnostics program from the Device Driver and IBM Enhanced Diagnostics CD, do the following: 1. Change the start up sequence for your computer. See "Changing the startup sequence to start from the CD" on page 109. 2. Put the Device Driver and IBM Enhanced Diagnostics CD in the CD-ROM drive. 3. Shut down the computer. 4. Start up the computer. The IBM Enhanced Diagnostics program will automatically run. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. You can also download the latest image of the diagnostics from the IBM Web site. To download the latest image of the IBM Enhanced Diagnostics from the Web site and create a startable Enhanced Diagnostics diskette: 1. Go to http://www.ibm.com/pc/us/intellistation on the World Wide Web. 2. Click Support. Select your type/model number and click Downloadable files → Diagnostics. 3. Download the .EXE file to a hard disk directory (not to a diskette). 4. Go to a DOS prompt and change to the directory where the file was downloaded. 5. Insert a blank high-capacity diskette in diskette drive A. 6. Type the following and press Enter: filename a: Where filename is the name of the file you downloaded from the Web. The self-extracting downloaded file is copied to the diskette, and a startable IBM Enhanced Diagnostics diskette is created. To start the IBM Enhanced Diagnostics program using the diagnostic diskette, do the following: 1. Turn off your computer and any attached devices. 2. Insert the IBM Enhanced Diagnostics diskette into diskette drive A. 3. Turn on all attached devices; then turn on your computer. 4.
