Important If possible, record the configuration information of your computer before moving switch 3 of the rocker switch. To erase a lost or forgotten password: 1. Turn off the computer and all attached devices. 2. Unplug the power cord. 3. Remove the cover. See "Removing the cover and front bezel" on page 59. 4. Refer to the system board cover label inside the computer to locate the rocker switch on the system board. Note: You might need to move the front fan aside to allow easier access to the rocker switch. For instructions to move the front fan aside, see "Replacing the battery" on page 115 steps 4 through 7. 5. Set rocker switch 3 to the on position. Note: If you moved the front fan aside, see "Replacing the battery" step 11 on page 117. 6. Replace the cover and plug in the power cord. See "Replacing the cover and connecting the cables" on page 83. 7. Restart the computer, leave it on for about 10 seconds, and then turn off the computer. 8. Repeat steps 2 through 4. 9.
