Appendix B. Rack mount configuration To configure your computer in a rack mount, you need to install parts on the rack enclosure and the computer. This process has three major steps: 1. Preparing the computer for installation in a rack enclosure. 2. Preparing the rack enclosure. 3. Installing the computer into the rack enclosure. Before you begin Read "Safety information" on page ix and the safety information in rack enclosure documentation. Turn off the computer if it is on. See the rack enclosure documentation for additional information on preparing the rack. Preparing the computer for installation You will need the following parts: One cable arm bracket The inner slide from two slide bracket assemblies 6 pan-head short screws CAUTION: Use safe lifting practices when lifting the computer. Attention To avoid damage to internal components, use only the pan-head short screws included with the rack mount kit. To prepare your computer for installation in a rack enclosure: 1. Attach the cable-arm bracket to the rear of the computer. a. Remove the two screws at the left of the power supply. b. Align the cable-arm bracket with the screw holes, keeping the solid arm of the bracket toward the side of the computer. Rack mount configuration
To configure your computer in a rack mount, you need to install parts on
the rack enclosure and the computer.
This process has three major steps:

Preparing the computer for installation
You will need the following parts:
